Recycling - Dump

Henrico contracts with Central Virginia Waste Management for recycling services to homes.
NO recycling services are provided to townhouse communities. We are working on this issue with Henrico.

Alternatives for Recycling:

The Charles City Road Dump near the airport provides a recycling center with various shipping containers you can put your recycling items in, they also provide an area for appliances, paint and chemicals, and a drop-off location for usable household items that people can pick through and get. NO CHARGE FOR RECYCLING AREA.

Recycle only newspaper, white paper, junk mail, cardboard, and beverage containers at these facilities.
Please collapse and flatten all cardboard boxes and place them in the containers so they do not clog up the container openings. This allows patrons room for their recycling.
Place all recyclables in the proper container.
Do not leave anything (recyclables, refuse, etc.) on the ground. This causes blowing litter and is a problem for our neighbors.
We do not accept styrofoam, foam packing materials, or foam peanuts. Please place these packing materials in your household trash and dispose of them as you do your other refuse.
These facilities are for recycling only and not for disposal of trash. This hurts our recycling program and costs us all money. Please dispose of your refuse properly.
Taking materials that are dropped off for recycling is a violation of the county code.

Habitat for Humanity REStore locations throughout Richmond, Hanover and Chesterfield. They take many household items for recycling by selling as a non-profit. Many of the items are otherwise recycled if not used.

Bee Green Recycling, 3609 Nine Mile Rd, Richmond, VA 23223. They buy metals, Christmas tree light wires and other items. Call them for details.

Freecycle is a website-based recycling for free, go online and join the Richmond or Hanover Freecycle groups. You post what you have to give away, what you want, etc.
